Dr Sakhile Ngcobo
Dr Sakhile Ngcobo is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the mining industry. His experience covers wide ranging areas, including corporate affairs, mineral trading and community development. He worked for Anglo American for 18 years, 10 of which in De Beers Consolidated Mines as Head of Corporate Affairs. While at Anglo, he was a member of the company’s Zimele enterprises development programme and participated in the establishment of Mondi Zimele as well as De Beers Zimele. In addition, he co-authored Anglo American Socio- Economic Impact Assessment Toolbox. He is the Executive Director and founder of South African Seaways, one of the largest shipping companies. He sits on the board of African Thunder Platinum, a mining and exploration company. Sakhile holds a PhD from Wits Business School with a focus on reputation management in the South African mining industry. He is passionate about the participation of youth in mining and the black industrialists programme.
Mpumelelo Mkhabela is the chairperson of Menar. He is an experienced media practitioner and business leader. He is a political and policy analyst who regularly comments on South Africa’s political economy. He has edited the Sowetan and the Daily Dispatch newspapers. He is a former chairman of the South African National Editors’ Forum. He holds BA Hons (Political Science) from the University of Limpopo, BA Journalism (Hons) from Stellenbosch University and an MA in International Politics from the University of South Africa. He obtained a certificate in economic and political risk analysis from Stellenbosch University.
Rudzani Emmanuel Mudogwa
Rudzani has numerous experiences within the environmental management field. In 2006, he joined the Department of Mineral Resources where he was exposed to evaluating the environmental scoping reports, environmental effect evaluation, closure reports, environmental control plan and programs submitted for prospecting, mining permits and mining rights programs. He left his position at DMR as acting regional manager in 2011. Following his departure at the DMR, he commenced his own business and became a partner of Canyon Coal. In 2018, he has been appointed as a director of Kalyana Resources.
